Eco Promotional Products, Inc.’s Commitment to Reducing Packaging Waste

At Eco Promotional Products Inc. (EPP), reducing packaging waste is a top priority. Our team works tirelessly with supplier partners to eliminate unnecessary plastic and foam packaging and use more sustainable alternatives whenever necessary. It may be a little more expensive, but it is worth the price to support environmental and social savings. EPP fully embraces its commitment to sustainability, and we are determined to help our supply chain switch to more responsible packaging solutions. 

Eco Promotional Products sets clear goals to help put an end to wasteful packaging. We educate our factories on packaging waste and its devastating effects on ecosystems and human health and introduce more sustainable alternatives. We have taught our partners that certain products do not need excessive amounts of packaging to be delivered safely.   

EPP shares tools to help replace plastic polybags, bubble wrap, foam, and other non-recyclable, non-biodegradable fillers with greener substitutes. This includes reusable and recyclable options like egg crates, cardboard inserts, recycled padded mailers, recycled kraft paper, and sustainably certified  FSC or SFI materials. 

Benefits of using sustainable packaging alternatives:

• Conserves natural resources. Up to 80% of water and 64% of energy is saved when reusable packaging options are chosen over plastic packaging.
• Prevents the increased exposure of microplastics and chemical byproducts to vulnerable communities and surrounding ecosystems. 
• Lowers labor costs. 
• Encourages recycling and upcycling of materials. 
• Lowers the dependence on plastic packaging. Approximately 36% of all plastics are used in packaging, of which 85% end up in landfills. 

Though there are times when our factories fail us and mistakenly ship our client orders incorrectly, we respectfully continue to share why this is important to us, how it jeopardizes our mission and goals, and how this is simply good business.
