A Guide to Mobile Chargers for Holiday Gift Giving
Whether you are looking for employee gifts or customers gifts this holiday season, tech gifts are always well received. Portable speakers, headphones and mobile chargers/power banks will once again be very popular. If you are looking to give a promotional technology gift this year know that not all technology is created equal.
Input, output, capacity, QCA, CE, FCC, RoHS Compliant. What does it all mean and how do you know you are getting the most bang for your buck and giving a high quality product?
There are a number of ways to charge mobile chargers depending on the type of charger. The most common input sources, from fastest to slowest, are: AC power or wall outlet; 12V or 5V DC car charger; USB from wall, car or computer; and solar panel. Think about your recipients. Regional salespeople who spend a lot of time in their car will appreciate a car charger whereas people who are outdoors and away from power sources might prefer solar powered chargers.
When choosing a power bank, consider what your recipients will be charging. Typically power banks are used to recharge dead phones. Portable power banks range 1000mAh to heavy hitters with 20,000mAh or more. 2000mAh is enough to charge a typical smartphone one time. mAh = milliAmps per hour. 1000mAh is power storage that can supply 1 amp power for 1 hour. The higher the number the more electricity is generated during a given time period and the faster a device will charge.
Another option to consider when selecting a chargers is one or two USB ports. The reason many devices have 2 USB ports, one for 1A and another for 2.1A is because the USB port can only send out one signal. Today’s smart phones have small enough batteries where a 1A charger is plenty big enough for charging to full capacity in a short time. Most cell phones will not charge any faster in a 2A charger. If you are looking for power banks for charging tablets, a 2.1A is necessary but these power banks are considerably more expensive. If it’s in the budget, a high value promotional portable charger is our dual port, 12000mA version which will charge most devices to 100%. Recipients will truly appreciate and use this unique promotional product for many years.
At Eco Promotional Products, we pride ourselves on our corporate social responsibility and the safety of our products. Most of our green technology products are RoHS compliant. RoHS is the acronym for Restriction of Hazardous Substances. RoHS originated in the European Union and restricts the use of specific hazardous materials found in electrical and electronic products. The substances banned under RoHS are lead (Pb), mercury (Hg), cadmium (Cd), hexavalent chromium (CrVI), polybrominated biphenyls (PBB), polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE), and four different phthalates (DEHP, BBP, BBP, DIBP). The restricted materials are hazardous to the environment and pollute landfills and are dangerous in terms of occupational exposure during manufacturing and recycling.
CE Certified and FCC Certified are two other important compliance tags found on our products that show products have undergone strict safety testing. Many products are also QCA Approved. The Quality Certification Alliance or QCA is a non-governmental, not-for-profit organization for the undisciplined promotional products industry. The accredited companies have met or exceeded national and international standards for quality assurance, supply chain security, environmental stewardship, product safety and social compliance.
