Earth Day 2018 Wrap Up
Another successful Earth Day is in the books. Our customers inspire us with their Earth Month events and the sustainability-focused messaging they are spreading throughout their schools, workplaces and communities.
Reusable water bottles, utensil sets and our new stainless steel drinking straws were best sellers this year with organizations spreading the word about plastic pollution and the importance of waste reduction. On Earth Day, Balboa Park Cultural Partnership’s Sustainability Program proudly shared Eco Promotional Products bamboo cutlery sets with their organization’s logo at the 29th Annual EarthFair in Balboa Park, San Diego. The Sustainability Program works to promote sustainability within the numerous arts, culture, and science organizations in historic Balboa Park, and encourages visitors to have a low environmental impact experience. Part of that mission includes advocating the use of reusables.
“The reusable bamboo cutlery sets were a big hit!” said Rubi Baricuatro, Sustainability Coordinator for the program. “We were happy to provide our booth visitors with Eco Promotional Products as we aim to make Balboa Park the most sustainable park in the nation.”
Pollinator-friendly seed packets were again very popular for Earth Day, as more awareness is brought to honeybee conservancy. Left Hand Laser Studio in Colorado gave wildflower seed packets to customers when they came in for services leading up to Earth Day. Our animal advocate customers not only care about animals, they also care about the Earth. Hounds in Pounds hosted an adoption event at a nature preserve where they handed out Go Green temporary tattoos and promoted dog adoption. USA made green-themed temporary tattoos are a fun giveaway for non-profits and groups with limited budgets.
Like our customers, we do our best to give back to the community for Earth Day. This year, we participated in Olive-Mary Stitt Elementary School’s Earth Fair, hosted by the school’s PTA Ecology Club. We had so much fun educating kids on what Eco Promotional Products does and what can be made from recycling at home. We talked with the kids about the importance of water conservation and taking care of our precious resources. These kids get it! Eco Promotional Products had a treasure bag and every child was able to take home something to plant and grow flowers or herbs. They loved the idea of having a project with something that gives back.
